Meet your Chronic Pain Coach

Simone Steyn

(Hons.psyc, PgDip Pain Mx, Master Health)

Hello! I'm Simone, your dedicated PainEase Coach. With years of experience in holistic pain management, I guide clients through three personalized pain pathways: RISE for neuroplastic mind-body pain recovery, FLOW for structural and mixed pain management, and Fibro-Fundamentals for specialized fibromyalgia support. My approach blends neuroscience education, mind-body therapies, deep emotional processing, and lifestyle coaching into a personalized approach. Using 5 holistic healing pillars as a framework, my coaching focuses on calming the nervous system, supporting the body, and gently uncovering unconscious, trapped emotions—even the ones that feel frightening to face. Entering those hidden places is often what begins the process of healing and releasing pain, while empowering each person to move toward greater resilience, confidence, and well-being, with the understanding that every client is unique, with their own pain story, health challenges, and psychosocial context.

My role is to guide and support you as you build confidence, resilience, and a fuller life beyond pain.

Simone, certified fibromyalgia coach and survivor

Personally,

I have lived a very full life thus far and have gained so much life experience both inner and text-book knowledge. I am a mom to a very special Rottie called Gabriel, a daughter to a wonderful mom, a friend to a few incredible individuals and a partner to my higher self. I am always striving to transform my former self. My previous career was in teaching and performing in ballet and contemporary. Dancing is my stress release and one of my greatest joys in life. Living a wholesome, peaceful and healthy holistic life is something that I most value.

Professionally,

I am a certified health and wellbeing, pain coach, a mind-body coach, a pain reprocessing therapy practitioner, a counsellor, and a health researcher and still learning... My area of specialization is in chronic pain, mind-body syndromes, psychology, health and wellbeing, PNI (psychoneuroimmunology) and especially fibromyalgia. My diverse training across various modalities, coupled with my personal journey, has given me deep insights into working with individuals who are living with daily pain and suffering. My expertise lies in fibromyalgia, mind-body pain and symptom recovery, a field I am particularly passionate about due to my own experiences. Additionally, I have enriched my knowledge base through my work as a health researcher where I completed my masters in chronic pain.

My purpose is to support you in making the same shifts I’ve made — from suffering and hopelessness to resilience, inner peace, and a renewed sense of meaning on this ever-evolving path of healing.

This isn't just about recovering your pain and symptoms—it's about rediscovering your wholeness, stepping into your full potential, and figuring out who you are without the "chronic pain" label.

Discover my Holistic Coaching Approach

My approach to healing chronic pain—whether structural, neuroplastic, or mixed—is grounded in a core belief: your body holds an innate wisdom and a natural ability to heal when it’s supported with the right tools, education, and encouragement. As your guide, I bring together evidence-based mind-body methods with compassionate, person-centered coaching to help you access this healing potential

Using my 3 unique programs (FLOW, RISE or Fibro-Focus), we’ll work together to uncover and address the true drivers of your pain and symptoms. You’ll learn powerful approaches such as Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET), narrative therapy, mindfulness practices, Internal Family Systems (IFS), lifestyle coaching to optimize movement, rest, nutrition, and resilience along with other methods that have been instrumental in my own healing journey. My focus goes beyond symptom relief—we support both the body and the brain. Whether your pain is structural, neuroplastic, or a mix of both, we’ll retrain pathways, release emotional tension, rebuild the mind-body connection, and optimize your lifestyle—helping you rediscover the remarkable YOU that’s always been there.”

Take the First Step Toward Healing

My 5-Pillar Holistic Healing Framework

At PainEase Coaching, I use a 5-Pillar Holistic Healing Framework that acknowledges pain as complex, multi-layered, and deeply personal. Whether your pain has structural, neuroplastic, or mixed origins, healing is best supported when we care for the whole person — body, brain, emotions, relationships, and spirit.

Pillar 1: Pain Neuroscience Education (PNE) — Knowledge is a powerful first step. By understanding how pain works — from tissue injury to nervous system sensitization to the brain’s interpretation of threat — you gain clarity and reduce fear. PNE helps you make sense of both structural and neuroplastic contributors, so you can approach your healing with confidence.

Pillar 2: Neuro-Biological Practices — Here we work with the body and brain together. Depending on your needs, this may include Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), movement and pacing strategies, nutrition for inflammation and energy, vagus-nerve regulation, breathwork, and restoring balance to the “Big Four” systems: sleep, stress, immune, and endocrine.

Pillar 3: Emotional Healing — Pain is shaped by emotional experience. Through Emotion Awareness & Expression Therapy (EAET) and trauma-informed practices, we explore fear, unmet needs, and core emotional patterns. Building inner safety allows both the body and brain to down-regulate protective responses.

Pillar 4: Psycho-Social Integration — Chronic pain affects relationships — and relationships affect pain. We address people-pleasing, boundaries, communication, and relational healing. Strengthening your social world reduces stress and provides a resilient support system.

Pillar 5: Self-Compassion & Purpose — True healing is sustained through kindness toward yourself and reconnection to meaning. Self-compassion helps soften inner pressure, while rediscovering your sense of purpose brings energy and direction to life beyond pain.

This 5-Pillar Framework adapts to each person’s unique life context — whether you’re facing neuroplastic symptoms, structural challenges, or a mix of both. It’s not about quick fixes; it’s about creating sustainable pathways toward resilience, confidence, and wholeness.
